We're Getting Wet...

It was a dark and stormy night......

Okay, not really (I just always wanted to start a story like that).

It is early afternoon. The sky just went dark
The sun was shining brightly this morning and the temperature was quite warm and pleasant. But over the last hour or so, the sky has grown increasingly dark. Dark enough that the street lights have come on. And then the rain came. Hard. I can see lightening flashing on the horizon.

The weatherman was right today. We’re getting those severe thunder storms he warned us about.

It is that time of year again. That “April Showers” time of year. This storm reminded me of when this happened, right about this same time last year.

I am still trying to get grass to grow in the bare spot in the front yard.

Our weather is weird (Well not really weird) around here to seems to change all the time through the day in the morning its freezing then sunny and warm 2 hours later only to get overcast and rain for awhile when suddenly its sunny again...Thats were we get the saying in Oregon "if you don't like the weather wait 5 minutes" that and most likely it will rain...

WE have had rain but now they say it might snow. So be thankful for just rain. Where I used to live they are getting a foot of snow tonight.

I love storms, but ours aren't anything like the midwest's... we sure could use some rain though.

Hmm, I better go check on the animals. Make sure they are all tucked in for the night if it is going to get bad out there. I heard it was supposed to, but wasn't sure if it would actually hit us or not. Maybe it will?

Alpha Dude, I don't know if you have ever visited Sober Steve's site, he is in my links, but he is really struggling and I just felt the urge to tell you about him and maybe ask you to pray for him or visit him and maybe you would have a word of encouragement for him. He seems to get a lot of comfort from his fellow bloggers. Just as the Lord leads though, you just seem to be able to say the right things at the right time, so I guess that is why I am led to tell you about him. Anyone else out there who would love to encourage a struggling fellow with wonderful intentions, Sober Steve is in my links. I know he would appreciate your visit.

Blessings,

Ellie

Rain would be nice to have, the last few days it has been cold and we've have had snow the last two days. By Sunday we are forecast to have rain. This is Calgary, I will wait to see.

A blessed day is wished for you and your family

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE storms. I am so glad to be back in Oklahoma because we get amazing ones. Maryland's Eastern Shore gets Showers. It was funny when we lived there and they would talk about this terrible thunderstorm that was headed their way and we would get light rain and 25 mile an hour winds. That was their definition of a storm.

Thanks for the comments on my blog yesterday. You are right we all have hard times. It is how we handle them that makes them miracles. For years I never let the little things go (bad Things). Now I know its the little things that add up. I always had such big plans big ideas. Now I'm learning to love the little gifts in life. Like watching "Cars" with my boys and wife this weekend and laughing. I can still laugh. I just forgot how.

I like your 3 "L"'s. Getting dressed to get out of the house. Its 2pm. and God has made me a blank canapoy of snow to play in. I think I'm going to go make a snow Angel. Like I did when I was young, because I still am, and yes I'm special.

Peace
Steve

hi alpha dude, i nominated you for an award that's waiting for you on my blog.

our weather here changed so drastically from last week and earlier this week. we've gone from 80 degree weather to the 20's at nite. i have to laugh at katrina a. who commented about the "storms" we have here. that's true what you said; they don't measure up to what other states have. i guess for us, since this is what we know, sometimes those light rains and 25 mph winds can seem so much, especially when the winds knock out the power and blow trees down on cars and homes.

One thing about that storm is that was the first time I'd ever heard the Tornado Sirens go off in our little town. Scared the beegeebers out of us. Once the storm had passed.....well, you've read the story "Light in the Window".

Grateful Pleasures - yes ma'am, I do. I'm in the process of writting a post about that very thing.

Stay tuned.

I really needed to read that but wish I hadn't. Grrrrrr. This whole moving from SC to Ohio thing has been my "tree." And like that tree, God is going to snap it right to the ground because that's what needs to happen in order for me to carry on in my "mission" which happens to be letting my light shine wherever HE sends my husband, children, and me. God bless you for sharing - even if I really didn't want to read that! ;) Really though, it is an encouragement to read and let God deal with me in this area of my life. Thank you.
